This afternoon I had the privilege to talk to Donald Adams, an APUSH teacher at Hillsborough High School in NJ. In college, he pursued a history major stimulating his interests in the subject and, today, he continues his passion by helping the next generation in not only history but also in a closely related subject: economics.
In APUSH, we study continuities and changes over time, so it was quite intriguing when I heard his response to a question that asked of an event in history that had a similar impact socially, economically, and politically as the COVID-19 pandemic. In this interview, we also talked about the mental health impact COVID has had, specifically its lasting effects on participation among students and the "classroom experience" as a whole.
